Weekend DIY projects...

do it yourself projects
I present here for your enjoyment, amusement or inspiration,a few great DIY projects.  There are so many how-to’s out there that it’s hard to pick just a few, but these caught my eye and seemed to have value for a wide range of interests.  What kind of projects would you like me watch out for?

STENCIL PROJECTS

I love stenciling.  It’s versatile and appropriate to any design style.  Plus it’s easy and anyone can accomplish it successfully.   Paisley Wallpaper has created a fabulous stenciled floor and even shares her pattern.

A FEW MORE HERE...

this incredible diy project makes my jaw drop every time i see it. the talented britt of cucumbersome created these seriously fantastic tables after seeing the curator table at anthropologie. inspired by angie’s diy faux-nelson jewelry chest on d*s, britt decided to create her own, more affordable (and dare i say, more beautiful?), version of the table for much, much less. using components from ikea and home depot, britt created these gorgeous tables for $96 each, a far cry from the $698 price tag on the anthropologie version. i just love britt’s initiative to create something with her own two hands that, in my opinion, came out looking just as good- if not better- than the inspiration piece.

handmade craft dock ipad

You can create this wooden dock for your iPad in only half an hour. You just need to have a piece of wood, a saw and a chisel to produce this cool functional dock. The maximum cost of the wooden dock is below $5. What you need to do is to make an opening in one end of the timber that should fit in the edge of your iPad. The brains behind this dock comes from three designers - Simon Blazer, Martijn Aslander and David Rudolph.

A business card holder can have more than one use. New York Time’s Multimedia Editor, Andrew Devigal, has discovered the iPad stand utility of a business card holder. And you needn't do anything at all! Just get a business card holder and place it as a stand for your iPad. The U-shaped plastic card will support both the landscape and portrait modes of an iPad. Resting the tablet PC on the card, you can watch films and listen to music. The entire cost of the DIY iPad project will not exceed more than $0.69.
